Depending on the type and complexity of the limitations impacting the individual’s functioning, testing takes place in a clinic setting, the client’s home and community, or a combination of environments.

What is unique about assessments conducted at Jodi Fischer Consulting?

The individual is directly observed participating in home or work-related activities. Tests are chosen that are evidence-based and have real-world applicability. 

What areas can be considered as part of the assessment?

Depending on the individual’s diagnosis and reported limitations, testing may focus on assessing: physical factors and activity tolerance for daily activity or work activity, functional cognition, and/or psychosocial factors which are impeding function. 

What is functional cognition?

Cognitive skills required to carry out work and daily activities such as the ability to concentrate on activities, multi-task at home or work, navigate busy environments, maintain productivity requirements at work, or plan and carry out one’s daily schedule efficiently. 

What is psychosocial function?

Psychological factors influencing the ability to carry out work or daily life activities within the individual’s social context. This also includes assessing the individual’s ability to adapt to and cope with pain in their daily life.
